At your first appointment with Medical Cannabis Educators we will outline the basic differences between the many different cannabis plants currently available and guide patients towards specific cannabinoid content and ratios that may best relieve their ailments. Patients will be taught the differences between Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid strains, how certain PHYTOcannabinoids react with their ENDOcannabinoid Systems and differences between the phytocannabinoids Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD). In addition, we will discuss methods of consumption along with onset and duration times of inhalation and ingestion.
Knowing the patient’s previous experience with the cannabis plant is important to best understand the level of education is needed. For example, a patient with zero cannabis experience will need to be walked through this education in a much different way than someone who has been a cannabis user for many years.
The main objectives for our Educators are to ensure:
1. Patient is comfortable with the cannabis plant and has a basic understanding of its effects and what may work best for them
2. Patient is registered with a Licensed Producer who access to the medication recommended to them by their doctor
3. Patient is able to place orders with their selected Producer(s) and has guidance on where to start
After your first appointment with us we hope you feel empowered to take your health and well-being into your own hands. Further support will always be available from your Licensed Producers in regards to ordering, product selection, and any issues regarding registration. In-clinic support is also provided through regular follow-up appointments scheduled no further apart than three months. Our Educators can also be reached at (403) 236-2344.
